Vesugen is a tripeptide with geroprotective and bioregulatory properties. Beyond its ability to protect the vascular system from aging-related damage, one of its key aspects is its role in regulating sirtuin 1, a protein that significantly impacts metabolic processes and helps mitigate the signs of aging. Sirtuin 1 is activated during caloric restriction, a process associated with significant anti-aging effects, suggesting that Vesugen may replicate some of these benefits.

DESCRIPTION

Vesugen stands out as a peptide with potential neuroprotective effects, particularly promising in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Previous studies have shown that oral administration of Vesugen improves memory in elderly individuals with central nervous system disorders. Additionally, the peptide has been shown to restore synaptic plasticity, enhancing neurons' ability to establish and strengthen connections. Vesugen, similar to other bioregulatory peptides, appears to influence the expression of genes crucial for apoptosis and neuronal differentiation. These include p16, p21, NES, GAP43, nestin, SUMO, APOE, and IGF1, which play significant roles in programmed cell death and neuronal growth, with direct implications in Alzheimer's pathogenesis.

Research has also indicated that Vesugen, along with peptides like Epitalon, Pinealon, and Violon, can mitigate the effects of oxygen deprivation (hypoxia) in the central nervous system. This is achieved by increasing the levels of antioxidant enzymes, which counteract the accumulation of neurotoxic reactive oxygen species that are harmful to neurons.

Antiaging

Caloric restriction is known to be one of the most effective methods for extending lifespan. Studies suggest that this practice could have a significant impact on longevity, although the exact mechanism by which it works is not fully understood. Part of the explanation seems to lie in changes in protein expression patterns. Research has shown that the increase in sirtuin 1, stimulated by caloric restriction, leads to the deactivation of the p53 protein, thereby reducing the rate of apoptosis, or programmed cell death. This slowing of apoptosis allows cells to live longer, which is crucial for tissues that regenerate slowly, such as cardiac tissue, or not at all, like neurons.

Additionally, sirtuin 1 promotes the process of autophagy, essential for tissue health, as it enables the recycling and renewal of cellular components, improving cellular function and reducing the accumulation of waste and debris. The activation of sirtuin 1 thus supports both the normal cleaning activities of cells and their prolonged survival. Although these benefits can be achieved through fasting or caloric restriction, these practices are not always easy to maintain long-term. Dr. Vladimir Khavinson, a pioneer in bioregulatory peptide research, has stated that Vesugen can replicate the effects of caloric restriction, offering an alternative way to obtain these benefits without the need to limit caloric intake.

Research on Vesugen clearly indicates that it is a peptide with anti-aging properties. When administered to adults with multimorbidity and cerebral organic syndrome, Vesugen has shown significant anabolic effects, promoting the regeneration of tissues and cells. These effects lead to improvements in functions in both the central nervous system and throughout the body. Aging biomarkers reveal an overall slowdown in the aging process in this context. In some cases, Vesugen proves to be even more effective than the Pinealon peptide in protecting against aging, and the two peptides could act synergistically when used together.

Diabetes

The intake of Vesugen 20 mg has been shown to activate sirtuin 1, a protein crucial for regulating insulin sensitivity. Studies conducted on animal models have demonstrated that sirtuin 1 activation, achieved with Vesugen or antioxidants like resveratrol, can improve insulin response and reduce insulin resistance induced by a high-fat diet. Beyond its effects on insulin, sirtuin 1 also influences key regulatory proteins in metabolism, such as PGC1-alpha and the ERR-alpha complex. These proteins are essential for managing metabolic processes and help improve overall metabolism, contributing to the prevention of metabolic syndrome.

Blood Vessels

Vesugen's protection of the central nervous system is partly due to its ability to shield blood vessels from the obstructive effects of atherosclerosis, thereby ensuring a steady supply of nutrients to various tissues and the efficient removal of waste products. The latter is particularly crucial for long-term brain health, as research has shown that the brain produces large amounts of metabolic byproducts that, if not promptly removed, can be toxic to neurons. Maintaining a robust blood supply helps ensure that neurons remain in a healthy environment. Indeed, much of Vesugen's geroprotective effects may be linked to its impact on vascular health.

Studies highlight Vesugen's effectiveness in combating atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases, especially in the elderly. The peptide regulates the expression of genes controlling endothelial health, the cells lining the inside of blood vessels. Research on animal models has shown that Vesugen can prevent the development of atherosclerosis and vascular stenosis by normalizing the expression of endothelin-1 and increasing that of sirtuin 1. The latter plays a key role in preventing lipid production and promoting the oxidation of fatty acids, thus contributing to longevity and granting Vesugen anti-aging properties.

Additionally, Vesugen has the ability to prevent lipid peroxidation, a process distinct from oxidation but equally important for the stability of red blood cell membranes and, consequently, vascular stability. This effect results in a reduction of dead cells circulating in the blood vessels, particularly in the central nervous system, helping to decrease rates of apoptosis and necrosis. Further research has indicated that Vesugen stimulates the Ki-67 protein, associated with cell proliferation in blood vessels. However, Vesugen levels naturally decline with age, suggesting that the increase in vascular disease rates in older adults may partly be due to the loss of this protective mechanism.

Addiction

Research has shown that sirtuin 1 is part of a protein complex that regulates type D1 dopaminergic neurons in the central nervous system. These neurons are involved in the mechanisms underlying addiction, playing a key role in motivation, reward systems, and habit formation. Dysfunctions in these systems are associated with disorders such as addiction, schizophrenia, and Parkinson's disease. Regulating the function of these neurons could open new avenues for treating various psychiatric and neurological disorders.
